Partner characterizationGotland University is located in the mediaeval city Visby on the island Goland in the middle of the Baltic Sea. It was established as an independent university in 1998. The university has grown fast and has now about 2000 students.All year round – during the fall, spring, and summer semesters- Gotland University offers classes in, among others, the following subjects: Archaeology, IT/Business Administration, European Studies, Interactive Media, Human Geography, Ethnology, Ecology and Wind Power. Gotland is a progressive region, actively promoting education, collaboration and international contacts. A modern community in impressive natural surroundings, it constantly recalls its glorious history in the extensive medieval remains on the island, and focuses on the future by developing windpower and other renewable energy sources, as one of Europe’s renewable energy islands. |
